Winterization Of Pipes

Water damage from freezing pipes are a common occurrence during the winter months. Water that flows through the pipes freeze, cause the pipe to burst, and water flows out, causing damage that can range from minor cleanup to massive flooding.  With colder weather on the horizon, make sure that your home is prepared to handle the freezing temperatures that may come.  Making sure your home is properly winterized is very important.

Many homeowners have water pipes that run in areas that are uninsulated, or do not have heat.  These can be areas such as garages or where pipes run very close to exterior walls.  Make sure that where necessary, pipes are wrapped in insulation or heating tape.
